I come to this work with a lot of genuine curiosity and care. The relationship we build matters to me, not just as a backdrop to therapy, but as a real part of how healing happens. People tend to do their best work when they feel safe, seen, and not judged, and creating that kind of space is something I take seriously.
What I believe, at my core, is that people have more capacity for growth than they often realize. Sometimes we just need someone to help us find it. My hope for every client is that they leave with a deeper connection to their own life, and more of what makes it feel meaningful.

Therapy gives you something that's hard to come by: time that's entirely your own. Time to slow down, look inward, and actually explore what's going on beneath the surface. It's a place where you don't have to have it together, where you can be honest, and where you'll feel genuinely heard.
We'll figure things out together. In the beginning, I'll mostly listen and ask questions. I want to understand you, not just the situation that brought you here, but your story, the way you think, and what you're hoping for. From there, we'll work out what you actually want to get out of this and how to get there.
You know yourself better than anyone. My job is to help you see what you might be missing, the strengths you're not giving yourself credit for, the patterns worth paying attention to, the possibilities that aren't obvious yet. A lot of what we do is just bringing things into focus.
I utilize a variety of modalities and tools to support you. Some of these include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and the Enneagram. If any of these resonate with you or if you want to know more about them, then read below to learn a little more. If it all sounds like jargon and you're not sure what they mean, no worries! Just reach out, and I'll be happy to explain if you're curious.
I offer free 15 minute phone consultations where we can connect, get to know each other better, and address any questions you may have. It's an opportunity for us to assess if I can support you and for you to determine if it feels like the right fit.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a therapy that helps people who have gone through difficult or traumatic experiences. It uses a technique called bilateral stimulation, which involves things like moving your eyes back and forth or tapping your hands, to help process and heal from those experiences.

During an EMDR session, I will help you concentrate on particular distressing memories or traumatic experiences while using bilateral stimulation. This technique aims to decrease the strong emotional impact linked to those memories, lessen negative beliefs and emotions, and encourage the integration of more helpful and positive thoughts and feelings.
EMDR is often used for conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and grief. It aims to make you feel better by lessening the impact of past traumas and helping you move forward in a healthier way.

I believe that understanding ourselves is really important in therapy. When we don't know who we truly are deep down, it can be hard to heal and make positive changes. That's why I offer a helpful tool called the enneagram, which can be used during our sessions.
The enneagram comes from ancient spiritual teachings and has helped many people discover more about themselves. Unlike other personality models, the enneagram goes beyond surface-level descriptions and allows individuals to explore their true nature in a more profound way. It doesn't limit you to a fixed category but rather lets you be flexible and adaptable.
If you're interested in exploring the enneagram, I would be happy to incorporate it into our sessions. It can provide valuable insights and contribute to your journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

During our sessions, I may also incorporate a helpful approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS). It's a therapeutic model that has shown great results and is backed by evidence.

During our sessions, I may also incorporate a helpful approach called Internal Family Systems (IFS). It's a therapeutic model that has shown great results and is backed by evidence.
IFS believes that we all have different parts within ourselves, like protectors, managers, and exiles. These parts show up in various ways and often step in to shield us from experiencing difficult and vulnerable emotions. However, these protective parts sometimes conflict with our true, authentic self.
In our work together, I will focus on healing the wounded part and bringing all these parts together in a more harmonious and balanced way. This helps us to integrate our thoughts, feelings, and experiences, leading to improved overall well-being.
IFS can be particularly beneficial for issues related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and general functioning in daily life. It offers a path to understanding ourselves better, finding inner healing, and enhancing our overall sense of balance and happiness.
